Dhaula is the basecamp for Rupin Pass Trek, and we pick you from Dehradun/Haridwar railway station at 6AM. Dehradun/Haridwar is well connected with Delhi via train, buses and taxis. It will be a 10 hours drive through Govind Pashu Vihar National Park in the last leg as the village is set inside the National Park. The drive through the himalayan roads is exhilarating in its own sense. The National Park is famous for its diverse collection of flora and fauna which are typical of this region and not found in any other location of the country. Arrive at this is picturesque hamlet of Dhaula by evening, check into the hotel / guesthouse / tents. Briefing over dinner for the days ahead.

We start our trek after breakfast at the Dhaula camp and march ahead for a 9 KMs walk though apple and apricot trees. The walk today will be easy as the climb is on the slow ascending trails. After just sometime in the trek, one can view Rupin falling from a high cliff. Reach Sewa for late lunch and then explore the village and make a visit to the infamous Kinnaur temple. Feel free to talk to the villagers about their tradition and custom of hanging the medals and trophies outside the temple. Have early dinner and retire in homestay / tents

We start early after breakfast today as it is going to be a little challenging than the last day and reach Jhaka for night halt. The trail is little tricky as the area is prone to landslides. There will be patches of moderate climb and some steep ascends in zigzag manner. It is important to go together and not lo leave the group.

It will be a eventful trek today we as walk over huge boulders, crossing a few streams, a few wooden bridges and centuries old pristine civilisation. After crossing the forest you enter a U-shaped valley with a sight of Rupin Waterfall at a distance, this marks the arrival of our next campsite, Saruwas Thatch. Relax for rest of the day here at the campsite and admire the nature

After breakfast at the camp we continue of the same trail and enter the forest with Bhoj trees welcoming you. We ascend through the forest until we are at the tip of the U-shaped valley with a number of waterfalls flowing down below you giving you feeling that cannot be expressed in words. After a brief break we continue walking down to the valley though green and yellow meadows before reaching our next campsite that of Dhandhreyas Thatch. This campsite is looking over the famous rupin waterfall. We will have hot food served here and rest in the camps for the evening.

It is a short walk in terms of distance but we will be gaining about 1,500 ft of altitude and getting above 4,000 ms which makes us vulnerable to AMS. The trail is quite tricky as we will be crossing multiple snow patches where the local guide and the trek leader will guide you to pass through the snow patches. There will be patches of sharp climbs where your climbing skills will be tested under our supervision. After cross the last bridge over Rupin Waterfall we reach our next campsite at Upper Waterfall where we will be served with hot lunch and relax for the evening.

Longest and the toughest day of the trek, we will be crossing the mighty Rupin Pass and gain the highest altitude of the trek which is 15,500ft. Today’s walk starts with a steep ascend until you reach Rati Pheri campsite. From here the vast stretch of snow starts. We continue to mark our way and walk through the thick snow along with some energising refreshments enroute for the final climb to Rupin Pass. The last stretch can be a little technical where our trained trek leaders will assist in climbing with the use of technical equipments. It is very important to follow their leads for overall safety.

Last day of the trek, but wait, it’s not over yet as we continue to experience another adventurous day. It will be a joyous walk down the mountain with continuous descend before you start climbing gently to escape through the narrow valley to find yourself in front of Mt Kinner Kailash. From here we continue to descend to the village of Sangla. The cab will be arranged for 3 PM departure from here cab leaves at 3 pm and reached Shimla by 1 am (please make your hotel booking at Shimla accordingly).
